I’m Tom Fair, President of Fairway Lawn and Tree Service of Harwich, MA, located in the center of Cape Cod. I started my lawn, tree and shrub career working for a large regional company for 30 years. When they sold to a national chain, I launched Fairway Lawn and Tree Service.

My biggest motivation was that I knew I could service my customers better.

A person must pass a core exam given by the Department of Food and Agriculture.
A license is administered only when the person can prove that they are properly insured.
A licensed professional is required to take educational courses & seminars on a regular basis and are kept current on the latest products and research, safety and accepted practices. (we do this in the off-season)

Tom Fair is a past President of CCLA. The Cape Cod Landscape Association, Inc. is a non-profit trade association serving the needs of individuals and businesses working in and involved with the Green Industry on Cape Cod and in Southeastern Massachusetts. Founded over 20 years ago, the CCLA has over 200 members. The CCLA is devoted to providing its members with information to help them make decisions that directly affect their businesses and save them time and money.

MALCP: Massachusetts Association of Lawn Care Professionals
MALCP has been in existence since 1989. Since its founding this group has worked with many companies and individuals to ensure the professional application of lawn care products. With membership consisting of companies of all sizes, our standard of requiring pesticide licensure makes the quality and reputation of MALCP one of integrity.

With the myriad of issues facing Lawn Care and Public Health, MALCP is intent on providing scientific, sound and rational information to those concerned. To that degree, MALCP was instrumental in assisting the Pesticide Bureau with the creation of the currently used lawn care signs.
